Lois Marie Carter

Lois Marie Carter, 69, of Shelbyville died Friday, May 22, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital & Heath Centers in Indianapolis. Born April 23, 1950, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Maurice and Bertha (Hipsur) McNeely. She married John W. Carter on Dec. 22, 1967, and he survives. Other survivors include her sister, Louise (husband, Johnny) Stephens of Shelbyville; and 18 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Carter retired from KCL in 2001, after 25 years of service. She then worked for Waldron Health & Rehab Center from 2002 to 2009. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
