Linda S. Worland, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Morristown Manor.

She was born July 28, 1949, in Shelby Co. to Howard Fleming and Inez (Rapp) Fleming.

Linda graduated from Shelbyville High School with the Class of 1968. In the late 70’s she worked in the book mobile at the Shelby County Library. She then became a kindergarten teacher at the Shelbyville Baptist Academy for a few years before opening up her own daycare. She owned and operated Linda’s Daycare in her home for over 30 years. She provided the kids with a safe and nurturing environment filled with loved until her retirement. Linda enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets and Boyds Bears. She had a love for watching her son Scott and grandson, Jr. play softball as well as her granddaughter, Alexis’ dance recitals. Her favorite shows to watch were Survivor, Dancing with the Stars, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Linda cherished the memoires made on her trips to Branson Missouri and Michigan and she loved to spend her Friday and Saturday nights singing karaoke at the American Legion.

She married Christopher Worland on August 1, 1969, and he survives. They shared 58 loving years of marriage together.

She is also survived by her sons, Scott (wife, Bev) Worland and Ralph (wife, Danielle) Worland; grandchildren, Scott Worland Jr., Alexis Worland, Amanda Green and Derrick Green; great-grandchildren, Jerry Green and Brendan Worland; sisters, Sandra Brandt, Barb Crawford, Lynda Thomas, Tammy Tresslar, Bonnie Steffey, Donna Knight and Christy Commer; brother, David Longwell and several nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
