Lesster L. Palmer

May 17, 1937 — February 21, 2011

Lester L. Palmer, 73, of Shelbyville died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Major Hospital. Born May 17, 1937, in New Marion, he was the son of George and Mae (Thomas) Palmer. He married Helen E. Ping on Nov. 25, 1959, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2010. Survivors include son, George (wife, Tammy) Palmer of Shelbyville; daughter, Tabatha (husband, Lonnie) Stannard of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Mickey Palmer of Greensburg and Asia Stannard, Natasha Boyer, Tiffney Boyer, Taylor Boyer and Scot Boyer, all of Shelbyville; and brothers, Allen Palmer of Shelbyville, Eugene Palmer of Bluffton, Kenny Palmer of Manilla, Melvin Palmer of Tampa, Fla., and Earl Palmer of Indianapolis. She is also survived by Edna Burdett, a sister of Indianapolis.

He also was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Palmer had owned and operated Shelby County Auction Barn for 15 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jerri Cadwallader and Charles Justice officiating. Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.
