Larry Kent Owens

Larry Kent Owens, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Richard Roudebush VA Medical Hospital.

He was born October 10, 1941 in Paoli, IN. to Clifford Owens and Katherine (Miller) Owens.

He was married for 57 years to the love of his life, Betty Lou (West) Owens.

Larry is survived by his son, Dennis Owens (wife, Tina); his daughters, Toni Jones (husband, David) and Marlene Finley; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Terry Owens (wife, Linda) and Jack Owens (wife, Sharon); and sister, Sheila K. Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Uncle Bud.

Larry was a graduate of Shelbyville High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Larry retired from Knauf.  He started there several years ago when it was still Pittsburgh Plate Glass.

He was a member of the Abate Motorcycle Club and Coon Hunters Association.  Larry enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and playing poker.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family and having everyone around.

Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
