Kenneth Eugene 'Bud' Keel

August 9, 1943 — August 21, 2020

Kenneth Eugene (Bud) Keel, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday August 21st surrounded by his family at home.

He was born August 9, 1943 in Shelbyville to Richard and Eva (Randolph) Keel.

On October 3, 1969 he married Lois (Jean) Hall and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Tim (Betty) Goff of Alabaster, Alabama and his daughter, Angie (Phillip) Hendrickson of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Becky Vickinovac of Greenwood, Olivia (Josh) Moore of Newburgh IN, Jackie Goff of Alabaster Al, grandsons, Casey and Ross Hendrickson of Shelbyville; 4 great-grandchildren, (Katie, Timmy, Colby and Simon), 1 due in Sept and 1 great-great-grandchild, (Austin); several nieces and nephews,  special nephew, Charlie, and special friends, Don McNicholas and Bill Berry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom Keel, sister, Martha Branson, and son Brett Keel, and his special fur baby, Buffy.

He attended Shelbyville High School.

Kenneth worked at Cummins Engine for 32 Years and retired in 2003. He had been known as the guy who checked buildings in Shelbyville for over 25 years when he owned Shelby Security and Investigations.

He had been a member of the Shelbyville Auxiliary Police Dept. He was also a member of the Shelbyville FOP.

He attended Hopes Point Baptist Church.

His favorite pastimes were to spend time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Whenever you would see him he most likely had a word search puzzle book in his hand. He enjoyed gospel sings with his wife, watching Matlock, and wrestling and loved going out to eat with family and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, Friday, August 28, 2020 at Hope's Point Church, 1703 S. Miller Avenue, Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Pastor Edwin Mohr and Pastor David Humphries officiating.  Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.

Masks are required to be worn for both visitation and funeral service.

Funeral Directors Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Kenneth's family.
