Judy Lynn Steele, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at MHP Medical Center.
She was born September 11, 1949, in Shelbyville, IN to Marvin R. Hamilton and Sophia Jane (Gobel) Hamilton.
Judy graduated from Shelbyville High School with the Class of 1967. After high school she went to work for Lincoln National Insurance which later became Safe Co Insurance. She worked there for over 30 years and ultimately was the executive secretary for the Vice President of the company. Judy was baptized as a child in the Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling all over the world and going to NASCAR races with her husband. Judy had a love for flowers and sewing. She was a homemaker and was always known to keep a tidy house.
She married Randie W. Steele on August 23, 2008, and he survives.
She is also survived by her step-son, Randie D. Steele; step-daughter, Misty D. (husband, Keaune) Christie; her grandchildren, Keauna Christie, Markel Christie and Keavne Christie, Jr.; nephews, Dale Lee, Dean Lee and Craig (wife, Nancy) Neeley; great-nieces, Aubrey Neeley and Kerrigan Lee and great-nephew, Jacob Neeley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Janet Lee and Joyce Neeley; father and mother-in –law, Orval Dale and Emma Steele.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Bryan Trotter officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
