Judith Lynn (Moorhead) Tolen, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Ashford Place Health Campus.

She was born November 17, 1940 in Shelbyville to Warren Palmer Moorhead and Laura E (Patterson) Stephens.

She married George Art Tolen, Jr. on January 20, 1973 and he preceded her in death on February 4, 1997.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Riser of Shelbyville and Troy Riser (Karen Stock) of Franklin; daughter, Tami (Gary) Mangrum of Shelbyville; stepdaughter, Jean (Jay) Fearnow; stepson, Ted (Ann) Tolen, of TN;  grandchildren, Margaret Roman, Jacob Riser, Aimee Powers, Jennifer Wasson and Catie Mangrum, 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Richard (Barbara) Moorehead and sister, Karen (Gordon) Coffey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George.

Judith was a member of First Christian Church, and Eastern Star.  She was employed as a counselor and technician at Terra Treatment Center in Johnson County, IN for 15 years.

She loved to read, enjoyed coffee and had a sweet tooth, but her greatest joy was being with her family and friends. She was a friend of Bill W

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Monday, February 10, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with the Pastor Edwin Mohr officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory.
