Joyce D. Parks, 92, of Marshfield, WI, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at Three Oaks Health Services.
She was born October 9, 1933, in Marshfield, WI to Andrew Kopf and Anna (Wagner) Kopf.
Joyce graduated from Marshfield High School with the Class of 1952. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Gib. She began her career at St. Joseph Hospital as an inventory control clerk, where she formed lasting friendships with many of her co-workers.
After her time at the hospital, Joyce became a homemaker and devoted herself to raising her three boys. Motherhood came naturally to her. She was loving, patient, and selfless, and there was never any doubt that family always came first.
In 1969, Joyce and Gib followed through with their plans to build a cabin on Soo Lake in Phillips, Wisconsin. The cabin became a loving and welcoming gathering place where the family has continued to come together ever since. Joyce’s presence and special touches added to the magic of the Northwoods, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. That magic will live on through the qualities she instilled in each member of her family.
Joyce was a caregiver to all and had a generous heart for serving others. She enjoyed reading, tending to her gardens, and spending time outdoors. For many years, she also enjoyed counting the offering funds at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a role that reflected her willingness to quietly serve her church and community.
Her most cherished times were spent with her family at the cabin—playing cards, enjoying the outdoors, baking and cooking, and, most of all, sharing stories and laughter. Joyce created a legacy of love, family, service, and togetherness that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
She married Gilbert S. Parks on June 18, 1953, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2007. They cherished 54 loving years of marriage together before his passing.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (wife, Donna) Parks of Marshfield, WI, Glenn (wife, Julie) Parks of Marshfield, WI and Greg (wife, Sheila) Parks of Shelbyville, IN; grandchildren, Heidi (husband, Mike) Zirnhelt, Jenna Parks, Jason (wife, Casey) Parks, Grant Parks, Grady Parks, Kyle Parks, Cara (husband, Eric) Clampitt, Stuart Parks and Briana Parks; 11 great-grandchildren and brother, Gordon (wife, Marie) Kopf of Athelstane, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Anna Kopf; brothers, Raymond, Ervin, Justin and Jim and sister, Blanche Boles.
Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 112 E. 11th St., Marshfield, WI 54449.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Jeffrey Hennes officiating.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1110 N. St. Joseph Ave., Marshfield, WI 54449.
