Josephine Phillips

Josephine Phillips, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at Heritage House of Shelbyville.

She was born September 26,1928 in Lauderdale County, TN to Roveron Bradford and Mary Frances Bradford.

She graduated from Lauderdale High School in 1953,

Mrs. Phillips moved to Shelbyville, IN shortly after graduating high school.  She received Christ at a very young age and became a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved the Church.  She also loved ice cream.   Her family was very important to her as well.

She married James Phillips in 1955 and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her nephew, Commodore Bradford (wife, Shannon); her niece, Anna Loving of   Milwaukee, WI; her nephew, Larry Burius (wife, Rose) of Jackson, TN; her nephew, Donald Burris (wife, Sheila) of Athens, GA; and a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, YZ Bradford, and her sister, Drucilla Burris.
