Johnnie Lee Locke

Johnnie Lee Locke, 68, of Manilla died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Rush Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 21, 1944, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., he was the son of Jessie Emmette and Lucinda Caroline (Guttery) Locke. He married Judy Florine Johnson on March 9, 1963, and she passed away on May 13, 2002, in Waynesboro, Tenn. Survivors include daughters, Anita Sutton of Indianapolis and Rita Hallgarth of Knightstown; son, Anthony D. Locke of Darlington; grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony, Jonathan, Adam, Christine, Kyle and Jennifer; great-grandson Ayden Locke; and sisters, Judy Tidwell of Tennessee, Glenda McCluen of Georgia and Joyce. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Faye Phillips. Mr. Locke retired after working 30 years at Allison's Transmission. Johnnie was a true outdoorsman and thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Caplinger officiating. Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery in Manilla.
