John E. Shearer

John E. Shearer, 71, of Fairland died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Major Hospital. Born March 20, 1939, in Fairland, he was the son of Charles and Josephine (Moore) Shearer. Survivors include sons, Jon Shearer and Mark Shearer, both of Indianapolis, Brian Shearer and Jeff Shearer, both of Shelbyville, and Tim Shearer of Brown County; grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Nicole, Shelby, Hannah, Sarah, Zack and Jenna; and sisters, Barbara Miller and Jeannie Swinehart, both of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Shearer had been employed in the auto industry around Shelby County for 50 years. He was a member of the Eagles lodge. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
