John J Krick

John J. Krick, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at his residence. He was born April 22, 1924, to John Henry Krick and Bertha Elizabeth (Hittle) Krick in Greenville, Ohio. He married Elizabeth "Lorene" (Cortner) Krick on April 27, 1946, and she survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Linda (husband, Rev. John) Blair of Versailles, Connie (husband, Rev. Mike) Linville of Mooresville, Dianne (husband, Rev. Dennis) Campbell of Frankfort, Melva (husband, Joe Sr.) Carey of Shelbyville and Jeanine (husband, Stephen Sr.) Emery of Evart, Mich.; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jackie (Hines) Krick Blair of Daleville; sister-in-law, Pauline Krick of Greenville, Ohio; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Krick; four brothers, Albert Wilbur Krick, Walter Krick, Leonard Krick and Chalmer Krick; four sisters, Florence McCabe, Caroline Shaw, Geraldine Smith and an infant sister, Naomi Ruth Krick; three infant grandsons; and one infant great-granddaughter. Mr. Krick was a veteran of World War II and served in the 387th regiment of the 97th division of the U.S. Army for 3 years. He retired from Automotive Gear in Richmond in 1985 after working there for approximately 36 years. He had lived at Ashford Place since Sept. 2010 after having lived in Lynn, Ind. for 38 years and then Winchester and Frankfort. John was a member of Bible Holiness Church and church organization International Conservative Holiness Association. He, his wife and family were in song evangelism for many years. He has now reached his Heavenly Home. Our loss is Heaven's gain. He is with his Lord whom he has served for many years. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2315 S. Riley Hwy., Shelbyville, with the Rev. Joseph Smith, the Rev. Mark Mowrey and the Rev. Don Bates Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Weimer Cemetery north of Saratoga. Military rites will be performed by local veterans organizations. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Holiness Church Building Fund, 906 S. Tompkins St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
