Jerry A. Wise

Jerry A. Wise, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus after a brave battle with cancer. He was born July 9, 1940, in Connersville, to Clarence and Norma Wise. He married Carole L. Baker-Lightner on Aug. 23, 1969, and she survives. He was a loving father to children: Matt Lightner and wife, Wendy, of Mass.; David Wise and wife, Carrie, of South Carolina; and Mark Wise and girlfriend, Julie Firsich, of Shelbyville; and a wonderful grandfather to Jack, Kelsey, Colin and Ethan. He is survived by two brothers: M. Richard Wise and wife, Linda, of Shelbyville; and Wayne Wise and wife, Anita, of Sun City, Calif. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He loved to play bingo at the American Legion. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at West Street United Methodist Church, 629 S. West St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
