Jerry L. Scott

Jerry L. Scott, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

He was born September 30, 1939 in Indianapolis to C.E. Scott and Margaret (Powers) Scott.

Jerry married Patricia Ann (Gladson) Scott on October 26, 1958, and she survives.

He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey (wife, Chris) Scott of Shelbyville; daughter, Jenny (husband, Wayne) Hampton of Columbus; son, Patrick (wife, Linda) Scott of Arlington; son, Matthew (wife, Gina) Scott of Shelbyville; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.

Jerry graduated from Arsenal Tech High School

He was a member of Bengal Christian Church and a 50 year member of the Free Masons.

Jerry was an auctioneer.  He owned and operated Scott Furniture for over 30 years.

He was an avid Nascar fan.  He enjoyed country music and writing gospel songs.  He loved spending his free time with his kids and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend Doug Adams officiating.

Burial will be in Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Funeral Directors, Greg, Sheila, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Scott family.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Jerry Scott Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
