Jerry Marie Lorber

Jerry Marie Lorber, 79, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday December 22, 2022 at The Village at Hamilton Pointe in Newburgh, IN.

She was born December 16, 1943 in Shelbyville, IN to William Russell Gallagher and Ruth Marie (Hulsman) Gallagher.

Jerry was a graduate of St. Agnes Academy in Indianapolis.  She was also a graduate of St. Vincent Nursing School / Marion College in Indianapolis as well.  It was then that she earned her title as Registered Nurse.  Jerry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She had a strong passion for gardening and always enjoyed the times she was able to be outdoors.

She married Dr. James Lorber on June 7, 1980 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2006.

Jerry is survived by her son Richard Michael Cochran (wife, Kande), daughter Paula Marie Chapla; sister Agnes Darby, brother William Alan Gallagher (wife, Vickie); granddaughter Kelsey Cochran (fiancé, Zack Harkness), grandson Kamren Cochran; goddaughter Heather Nichole Gallagher, and godson Sean Russell Gallagher (wife, Kari).

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother-in-law Richard Darby.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday January 5, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, IN. 46176.  A Rosary will be held at the funeral home prior to the mass.

Burial will be in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery.
