Jerry Lee Gribbons, 72, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.

He was born June 22, 1944, in Rushville, the son of William D. Gribbons and Anna Marie Newton.

Surviving are brother, David Gribbons of Franklin and sister, Shirley Lyndsay of Edinburgh.

He was predeceased by brothers, James Earl Gribbons and Donald Gribbons.

Donald retired from Ford Motor Company.

He always considered everyone his friend and treated everyone that way. Listening to music gave him great comfort.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

A funeral service will follow at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Carthage Riverside Cemetery in Carthage.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Gribbons.
