Jerry S. Branson

Jerry Stanley Branson, 73, of Shelbyville died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Major Hospital. Born April 10, 1936, in Shelbyville, he was the son of William C. and Edna May (Stanley) Branson. Survivors include his brothers, John Branson (fiancee, Leslie), Jim (wife, Sharon) Branson and Bill (wife, Martha Joann) Branson, all of Shelbyville; and sister, Sharon (husband, Lynn) Turner of Arlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Charlene Branson; and nephew, Matthew Branson. Mr. Branson had been employed at Shares Inc. for 20 years. He was very interested in construction and heavy equipment and had a great love for animals and gardening. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County, with the Rev. Dan Owens officiating.
