Jerome J. Sobel

Jerome J. Sobel died on November 7, 2024 at the age of 96 at the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.  He was honored for his service during his stay by the entire hospital staff with a moving pinning ceremony.  He was a radio operator in the Navy, serving on several submarines and finally on the battleship USS Wisconsin.  He became a lawyer in 1968 and practiced for over 20 years.  He was married for almost 70 years and is survived by his wife, three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Military rites will be conducted by our local veteran organization at Noon to conclude the visitation.

Private interment will be held in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Jerome's family.
