Jeanetta Katherine Spurling Fitz, "Jetty" – "Jet", 87 of Shelbyville passed away Monday, August 15, 2021 at MHP Medical Center.

She was born December 9, 1933 in Mansville, KY to Jesse H. Spurling and Mayme E. (Gribbins) Spurling.

She married Ned Rex Fitz, Sr on June 2, 1950 at 1st Baptist Church in Franklin, IN. and he survives.

Jetty's family includes her children, Ned Rex Fitz, Jr. "Neddy" (deceased), wife, Reba June, of Ft. Payne, AL.; Terry Tim Fitz, wife Patricia (deceased); Rhonda Kay (Fitz) Milligan, husband, David (deceased); Bret Alan Fitz, (Terri Pease); her siblings, Geneva M. (Spurling) Kaster (deceased); Henry L. Spurling, wife, Dorothy (deceased); Wm Hurshel Spurling, wife, Carolyn (deceased); JC Spurling, wife, Sharon (deceased); Donald Dexter Spurling (deceased), wife, Sherry; Gloria Jean (Spurling) Halber, husband, Arny A. Halber, Riverview, FL.; many special cousins and friends, like family, very special nieces and nephews.  Also, her grandchildren, Jason Dwain Fitz (Brandy); Trisha Kay, Amanda (Fitz) Kiefer (Paul); Trent Alan Fitz (Amanda); Sgt. Trevor C. Ned Fitz (Kayla); Nedina Lewis (Randall, deceased); Amanda Brianna Bell (Cody); Gabriel Allen Fitz (Erin); Joseph A. Fitz (Kristina); Andrew Tyler Fitz; Trey Eugene Fitz; and Bretnee Alana Fitz; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Evan and Adam Fitz; Hannah and Megan Dylan; Trinitee, Addison, Rylan, and Brooklyn Fitz; Greyson Fitz; Wyatt, Xander, Jada, and Levi Bell; Luke, Kyle, Skylynn, and Eli Lewis; Jack and Harrison Fitz; "Angel" Baby Paisley; and great-great-granddaughter, Ophelia Jackson Fitz.

Jetty helped out a lot with SCUFFY, getting donations.  She was president of Addison Twp. PTA, a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Sorority and the VFW.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Branch, Shelbyville Post 70.  She retired from IPC and worked in the cafeteria at Shelbyville Middle School for 10 years.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2021 at the funeral home with Reverend David Humphrey officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
