Janice Kaye Jenkins, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away October 6, 2026, at her residence.
She was born September 6, 1940, in Columbus, OH to Richard Nolen and Erma (Groves) Nolen.
Janice graduated from Mossoula County High School in Montana with the Class of 1958.
She was the past President of Southside Art League and a member of the Writers Club. She also was an Amateur Radio Operator and her call sign was N9EEW.
Janice was known for her creative writing and was a Professional Artist. Her pride and joy was taking care of her horses. She always cherished her vacations with her family.
She married Thomas E. Jenkins on December 18, 1958, and he survives. They shared 67 loving years of marriage together.
She is also survived by her son, Clay (Deena) Jenkins of Nashville, IN; daughter, Kathleen (Vincent) Morales of Southport, IN; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jay K. Jenkins; daughter, Christy Lynn Wade; grandson, Tye Wade and one brother.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.
