Janet K. Jordan

Janet K. (Mays) Jordan, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday November 13, 2023 at Ashford Place Health Campus.

She was born December 23, 1944 in Shelbyville, IN. to Robert Mays and Jacklyn (Fritts) Mays.

Janet graduated from Shelbyville High School.

She was a member of Crossroads Community Church.

Janet was a 4-H Leader for 11 years.  She loved being out in her garden and was an avid soap opera watcher.

She married James E. Jordan on May 24, 1968 and he preceded her in death on January 14, 2013.

Janet is survived by her son, James F. (wife, Lisa) Jordan, daughters, Joy L. Jordan and Jane A. (Roger) DeBoard, son, Jonathan L. (wife, Toni) Jordan; 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen (husband, Jim) Benfiel, Sherri (husband, Fred) McDowell, Linda Walker; brother, Robert "Sean" Mays.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James E. Jordan, great-granddaugher, Kensley Haus.

Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at funeral home with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve Janet's family.
