James D Skaggs

James D. Skaggs, 46, of Shelbyville, IN passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at his residence.

He was born April 30, 1975 in Shelbyville to Freddy Skaggs and Jenny Rutherford.

James graduated from Southwestern High School in 1995. He was an industrial technician that would provide temporary utilities to those who were effected by natural disasters. He also loved working fun events that would put smiles on people's faces.  He was a hard worker and loved what he did. Especially how the job he did could make such an impact in someone's life. One perk to his job was traveling and being able to bring his family along when he could.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. What he loved most of all was the cookouts and bonfires with family and friends.

James married Debra (Patterson) Skaggs on September 8, 2007, and she survives.

He is also survived by his father, his son, Tylor Skaggs, and daughter, Jenny Skaggs, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the funeral home with Ray Call officiating.

Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery.
