James W. Riggs

James W. Riggs, 62, of Shelbyville died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Major Hospital. Born Dec. 30, 1948, in Shelbyville, he was the son of James W. and Jeanne (Swango) Riggs Sr. He married Janet Jones on Dec. 14, 1968, and she survives. Other survivors include daughters, Regina (Scott) Owens of Alexandria, and Rebecca (Jason) Tutman and Jennifer (Brandon) Tungate of Indianapolis; son, James (Tera) Riggs III; nine grandchildren; brothers, Terry (Sheila) Riggs and Rick (Lori) Riggs, both of Shelbyville; and sisters, Debbie (Jerry) Montgomery of Fairland, and Kathy (Randy) Downing, Cindy (Norman) Huber and Sue (Kenneth) Harding, all of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Riggs graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1966 and was self-employed, handling titles and abstracts. He enjoyed cooking, golfing, NASCAR and Indianapolis Colts football. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S.
