James R. 'Jim" Keaton

February 8, 1932 — February 16, 2022

James R. Keaton, 90, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Morristown Manor.

He was born February 8, 1932 in Indianapolis to Raymond and Maxine (Keeler) Keaton.

He married Donna McCreary in 1959, and she preceded him in death.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Kathy Lykins (Melvin) of Columbus, his son, John Keaton of Greenfield, his daughter, Debra Nulliner (Bruce) of New Palestine, his daughter, Barbara Emch of Shelbyville, his son, Jeff Keaton of Plainfield, 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Robert Keaton (Karen) of Brookville, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son-in-law, David Emch, and his sister, Kay Robertson.

From a young age, Jim worked with his father at his father's Standard Oil Station. He also was a warehouse loader and janitor at Warren Central High School.

Jim and his late wife were members of a camper club in Florida.  They enjoyed traveling and seeing all parts of the United States with his brother and sister-in-law.  They enjoyed sightseeing and cherished their times together.

A Celebration of Life will be announced in the spring.
