James Morris Ii

James Morris II, 73, of Edinburgh, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Columbus Regional Health.

He was born August 8, 1952 to James K. Morris and Judith Jones.

James graduated from Whiteland High School with the Class of 1970.

He joined the United States Navy and honorably served his country.  He went on to work for Rolls Royce where he was an Inspector.  Jim retired from there with over 47 years of dedicated service.  He has always been an avid sports fan.  After retirement, he loved to watch sports with his close friends at Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbus.  Jim was a devoted father, husband and grandpa.  He cherished the time together and memories made through the years.

He married Janice Lynn (Boyle) Morris on July 18, 1996 and she preceded him in death on January 29, 2024.   They shared 27 loving years of marriage together.

He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Faith and Logan Morris; his sons, Eric Morris and Derek Morris; his grandchildren, Ozzy Mutindi, Ella Morris, Daci Morris, Haven Canner, Derek Morris and Damon Morris; his brothers, Ron Morris and Jeff Jones; his sisters, Debbie Baker and Linda Mitchell; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

A Gathering of Friends will be Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN  46176.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  Military rites will be conducted by our local veteran organizations.
