Survivors include his parents, Dennis and Suesanne Burris of Shelbyville; daughters, Leah Hellums, Linzie Hellums and Lacey Hellums; brother, Todd Hellums and wife, Nikki, of Greenfield; and nieces and nephews, Tyler Hellums, Regan Hellums, Timothy Higgins and Taylor Higgins.

Mr. Hellums worked as a painter.

He enjoyed fishing. He was a gifted mechanic and a man of all trades.

There will be no public services.
