James "Jim"  Broughton, 76, of Waldron, IN went home to be with his Lord and Savior  on Sunday, February 05, 2017, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home Greensburg, IN.

Born April 6, 1940 in Harmon, KY, He was the son of Lee Broughton and Eller Broughton (Smith).

Jim married Sharon (Stout) Broughton on Saturday, December 22, 1984 and she survives.

He is also survived by two children: Rick (Linda) Broughton of Indianapolis, Pamela (Sid) Marquis of Quincy, WA, step-daughter: Jody (John) Linton of Shelbyville, three  brothers: Randall (Phyllis) Broughton of Milan, IN, Charles (Leveta) Broughton of Spades, IN, Buford (Karen) Broughton of Texas, One Sister: Delora (Ed) Lawrence of Indianapolis.

Mr. Broughton was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 5 brothers.

Jim attended Beacon Baptist Church in Shelbyville. He had a love for the outdoors and spending time fishing. He enjoyed building and remodeling homes. He also loved flowers and gardening. Jim held his family close to his heart and loved them dearly.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services. 703 S. Harrison St. Shelbyville IN.

Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Troy Collett officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby County Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home.
