Irene Stanley

Irene Stanley 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Heritage House.

She was born May 7, 1945, in Greenfield, TN., to Eack Stewart and Sally (Reaves) Stewart.

She married Stephen L. Stanley on July 28, 1963 and he survives.

Irene is also survived by her daughters Angela Kortepeter and Dawn (husband, Brian) Branson; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry Stewart of Shelbyville; her sisters, Geraldean Miller of Florida and Janice DeHo of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Kevin Stanley and 5 great-grandchildren.

Irene retired from J. C. Penny in 2004 after 42 years of service.

She enjoyed sewing, doing arts and crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.  Due to mandated restrictions, only 10 people will be allowed at a time.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Lee officiating.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date because of the current health regulations.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
