Ina L. Boyd Kittle, 83, of Franklin, died September 1, 2013, at Franklin United Methodist Community. She was born September 13, 1929, to Herman F. Staten and Gertrude (Smith) Staten in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Survivors include: sons, H. Eugene (Becky) Boyd of Boggstown, Ken (Pam) Boyd of Indianapolis; granddaughters, Gina Fisher, Katie Boyd; grandson, Sam Boyd; great-grandchildren, Tony, Nick and Lydia Fisher; sisters, Mary Martin of Needham and Linda Ross of McCordsville. She was preceded in death by: father, Herman Staten; mother, Gertrude (Smith) Staten; grandson, David Boyd; brother, Herman Staten; and sister, Julia Hopkins. She worked for Western Electric for 15 years until she retired in 1991. Dancing and skating were her favorite pastime, when she was able to participate. In her later years, she was an avid reader, but always found time for her puzzle books and crocheting. She was known as MAMAW to her family and specially her grandchildren always had a special place in her heart. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Robert Prather officiating. Burial will be in the Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
