Ila Mae Weakley

Ila Mae Weakley, 92, of Shelbyville died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Heritage House Convalescent Center. Born Jan. 9, 1917, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Gaylord and Bessie (Pierce) Goodrich. She married Francis E. Weakley on Nov. 9, 1935, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1985. Survivors include her son, Robert (wife, Geraldine) Weakley of Shelbyville; grandchildren, David Weakley and Sharon Spalding; great-grandchildren, Levi, Katilyn, Jillian and Alana; and Great-great-grandson, Cameron Spalding. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dick Weakley; brothers, Clarence Goodrich and Frank Goodrich; and a sister, Thelma Wagner. Mrs. Weakley was a homemaker and had been a dining room greeter for Burger Chef restaurant on South Harrison Street for 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Love officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 14 W.
