Ida M. Parrott

Ida Parrott, 74, of Shelbyville died Friday, March 27, 2009, at her home. Born Feb. 8, 1935, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Walter and Nellie (Bausback) Sosbe. She married Cecil Parrott, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Jody Parrott of Shelbyville; sister, Elinore Imel of Fountaintown; brother, Charles Sosbe of Bossier City, La.; grandson, Kyle Parrott; and dog companion, Tiny. She also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Parrott was a homemaker and member of Beacon Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was a pelican collector. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
