Henry Lee Lay, 69, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at his residence. Born July 3, 1941, in Somerset, Ky., he was the son of Walter B. and Zula (Eaton) Lay. He married JoAnn Porter McClain on Aug. 18, 1959, and she survives. Other survivors include sons, Roger A. Lay, Bill (wife, Corrina) Lay and Todd W. Lay, all of Shelbyville; daughter, Terry Lee (husband, Brian T.) Conover of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Brian Lee Conover, Whitney Lay, Caitlin Lay, Kyleigh Lay, Cooper Lay and Kaleigh Ewick; great-grandson, Brian Lee Conover Jr.; sisters, Josephine Hall, Sybil West and Shirley Bailey, all of Shelbyville; and brothers, Edward Lay of Somerset, Ky., and Pete Woodall of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers; and his parents. Mr. Lay was a licensed auctioneer for 30 years and worked as an independent auctioneer for some time, after which he worked with John R. Scott Auction Service. He also had worked for Ford Motor Co. for 31 years. He was a member of the Bible Mission Church, and for the past 31⁄2 years attended the Victory Fellowship Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor James Fraley officiating. Burial will be in the Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Mission Church or Hospice of South Central Indiana in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S.
