Helen Snyder

Helen Snyder, 88, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 at Waldron Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was born April 25, 1937 in Rush County, IN to Clifford Hill and Mabel (Dearinger) Hill.

Helen owned and operated an in home daycare for over 10 years.  She also worked at Admiral and the Garment Factory then ultimately retired from Major Hospital in 2002. She always opened her home to others and took in many kids as her own through the years.  Helen was the definition of a caretaker.  She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time.

She married Robert L. Snyder on November 21, 1953.  They shared 51 loving years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 24, 2004.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Jean (husband, Aaron) Lynch of Scipio and Beth Rutherford of Marysville, OH; two sons, Robert "Rob" (wife, Sharon) Snyder of Shelbyville, and Timothy "Tim" (wife, Shelley) Snyder of Waldron; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Anthony "Chip" Snyder; her son-in-law, John Rutherford; her brother, Bob Hill, and her sister, Kathleen Bert.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home Pastor Troy Romine officiating.

Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Rush County.
