Helen E. Palmer, 70, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Major Hospital. Born April 28, 1940, in Somerset, Ky., she was the daughter of Claude and Edith (Eaton) Ping. She married Lester Palmer on Nov. 25, 1959, and he survives. Other survivors include son, George (wife, Tammy) Palmer of Shelbyville; daughter, Tabatha (husband, Lonnie) Stannard of Shelbyville; brother, Jim Ping of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Mickey Palmer of Greensburg and Asia Stannard, Natasha Boyer, Tiffney Boyer, Taylor Boyer and Scot Boyer, all of Shelbyville. She also was preced in death by her parents. Mrs. Ping was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Community Church in Manilla. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Charles Justice and Jerri Cadwallader officiating. Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens.
