Helen Laverne Goldey, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away, Monday, July 22, 2019 at Aperion Care in Waldron.

She was born October 3, 1930 in Connersville, IN. to William and Opal (Tilley) Walch.  She married Everett S. Goldey, Jr on June 20, 1949, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1976.

Mrs. Goldey is survived by her daughter JoAnn Fuchs; 9 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and 4 great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters, 1 grand-daughter, 1 grand-son  and 2 daughters.

Mrs. Goldey moved from Connersville to Shelbyville in 1960.  She graduated from Connersville High School.

She was employed at Wellman's for 21 years before becoming the owner and operator of her own business 'Helen Creations and Crafts'.

Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville.

Funeral services will  follow at Noon at the funeral home with Reverend Brandon Sutton officiating.

Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
