Helen L. Browning, 77, of Fairland, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Tennessee to Dewey Hix and Mary O'Dell (Warden) Hix. Survivors include her son, Mark (wife, Jill) Browning of Fountaintown; daughter, Rhonda (husband, David) Billman of London, Ind.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers; and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Browning; and a sister. Mrs. Browning was a member of Shelbyville Church of Christ. She worked at Hoosier Gasket Co. in Indianapolis from 1967 to 1999. She enjoyed fishing. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 25, 2012, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be at Acton Cemetery. Funeral directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J.
