Harry Justus

Harry Justus, 93, of Morristown passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at Walker Place in Shelbyville.

He was born December 9, 1926 in Morristown to Wade L. Justus and Eva L. (Chappius) Justus.

He married Lois Joan (Matthias) Justus on January 19, 1948, and she preceded him in death on May 23, 2003.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Linda (Ernie) Johnston; his son, Rick (Debbie) Justus; his daughter, Rebecca Schneider, his grandchildren Jason (Kim Fowler) Adkins; Jennifer Mahin, Jim (Alecia) Adkins; Ryan (Krista) Justus; Jamie (Tim) McGowan; and James (Nancy) Schneider; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brothers, Leonard Justus and Carl Justus, and his sisters, Loretta McClure and Mary Ann Clayton.

Harry graduated from Morristown High School in 1944.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy "Seabees" during WWII and served in the South Pacific.

He retired from GM after 28 years of service.

Harry was a dual member of the Free and Accepted Masons and a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and always had a good story to tell.

He owned several standardbred race horses over a period of his life.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2020 from 11 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, only 10 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a given time.  Funeral home staff will enforce social distancing and monitor the number of people in the building.

Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Reverend Robb Barlow officiating.

Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery in Morristown. The public is invited to attend and are advised to stay in their vehicle.  If you do get out of your vehicle, you must follow COVID-19 guidelines and remain 6 feet apart.
