Harold Barnes

Harold E. Barnes, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Heritage House.

He was born February 26, 1940, in Maxwell, IN. to Edward R. Barnes and Luella (Martin) Barnes.

On August 7, 1960, he married Kay (Hadley) and she survives.

Harold is also survived by his children, Robert 'Bob' Barnes, DVM, of New Palestine; Beverly Korobkin (Michael) of Indianapolis; Brenda Barnes (Brian Rietel) of Mooresville; Brian Barnes (Jessica) of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Mellissa, Lauren, Colin, Mallory, Haylee and Dylan; sisters, Janet Bozzelli (Bill Gutzwiller) and Marlene Fritz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Harold graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1958.

Harold was a member of Westport Masonic Lodge, and the United States Trotting Association.  He was a 2016 inductee of the Indiana Horse Racing Association Hall of Fame, and a 2019 inductee of the Indiana Standardbred Hall of Fame.  He had a love for anything to do with horses.

His greatest joy came from spending time with his kids, grandkids, and loving wife of 59 years.
