Gladys E. Higgins

Gladys E. "Granny" Higgins, 93, of Waldron died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Waldron Health & Rehab Center. Born Feb. 14, 1916, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Edward and Mattie (Gregory) Badgley. She married J. Victor Higgins Sr., and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her grandsons, Mike (wife, Maru) Olson of Moscow and Kevin (wife, Pam) Olson of Waldron; and great-grandchildren, Carmenn Olson, Jessie Olson, Shelby Olson, Hannah Olson and Eli Olson. She also was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Don Higgins and Victor Higgins II; four brothers; and five sisters. Mrs. Higgins was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was the owner and operator of The Store in Geneva from 1970 to 1990. No public services will be observed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S.
