George L. Chaney, Jr

George L. Chaney, Jr., 69, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at MHP Medical Center.

He was born on October 17, 1955, in London, Kentucky, to George L. Chaney, Sr. and Dorothy (Hood) Chaney.

George had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed trail riding on four-wheelers, side-by-sides, and dirt bikes, as well as riding motorcycles. A handy man by nature, he also took great pleasure in working on cars, especially classic ones. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, George L. Chaney III (Malia); his daughter, LaShaunda Lally (Jon); his son, Dustin Chaney (Jessica); his grandchildren, Nolen, Kale, Hali, Camille, Drake, Kinsley, and Emery; his brothers, Ronnie Chaney (Anna) and Jay Chaney; his sister, Carolyn "Sue" Pike; and several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy ; his sister, Donna Chaney; and his brothers, Niles Chaney, Sherman Chaney, and Benson Chaney.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Phillip Beal officiating.

Burial will take place at Miller Cemetery.
