Gary Wayne Thomas went home to the Lord in the early morning hours of Friday, June 19, 2020.

Gary lived and worked in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was born in Franklin, Indiana on June 9, 1967, the son of Patricia (Alley) Batson and Dennis K. Thomas.  He spent many years in Shelbyville, Indiana, but moved to Kokomo, Indiana during his high school years, graduating from Western High School, Russiaville, Indiana.

Following graduation he moved to Indianapolis, where he lived until his death.  He worked in retail management his entire adult life, most recently at Scrubs and Beyond.

Gary is survived by his parents, David and Patricia Batson, two brothers, Greg Thomas of Springerton, IL., and Mark Batson, of Louisville, KY., two nieces, Katlyn Keefe, of Omaha, Nebraska and McKenna Batson, of Louisville, KY., one nephew, Layne Batson, of Louisville, KY. In addition he is survived by one uncle, Richard (Evelyn) Flater, of Colorado Springs, CO., also Gary leaves behind many close friends and two fur baby cats, Sugar and Smokey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis K. Thomas, as well as his maternal grandparents, Maurice and Betty Herthel, and paternal grandparents, Frank and Katie Thomas.

Graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm. The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice. There will be no visitation.

Funeral Directors Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Thomas family.
