Gary P. Morton, 67, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, in Shelbyville.

He was born Jan. 3, 1948, to Paul Morton and Gertrud Huft Morton in Washington, Indiana.

Survivors include siblings: Heinz Morton and wife, Debbie, of Marietta; Roswita Carter and husband, Jim; Michelle Piatt and husband, Steve, of Shelbyville; and Steve Morton and wife, Inetha, of Geneva; daughter, Monica Roberts and husband, Eric, of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Kelli, Grant and Brock Roberts, all of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Paul Morton, who passed in November of 1999.

Mr. Morton had lived in the community since 1950.

He attended Winslow High School.

Mr. Morton worked as an electrical control specialist at Triumph Fabrication (formerly KT Corporation) for 31 years.

Gary was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge and Sons of the American Legion.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Langdon officiating.

Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Morton.
