Fred Leitenberger

Fred Leitenberger, 76, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, July 21, 2025.

He was born June 6, 1949, in Lorain, OH to Bruce Leitenberger and Betty (Schmidt) Leitenberger.

He proudly served in the United States Marines from 1969 to 1973.

Fred enjoyed playing golf and going bowling. Spending time with his family was most important to him.

He married Marlene (Hodge) Leitenberger on June 5, 1971 and she survives.

He is survived by his wife; his son, Fred (wife, Jennifer) Leitenberger; his daughter, Elizabeth Beyer; his grandchildren, Kylie, JD, Jaxon, Alicia, Jessika, Makenna and Tristen; his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ivee, Quinnleigh and Emily; his brother, B. Allen (wife, Lorry) Leitenberger; his sister, Marnel (husband, Dennis) Tomlinson; his brother-in-law, Ron (wife, Becky) Hodge; his sister-in-law, Becky Scott-Ratliff and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Mary Jeanette.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Post #70, 1125 Miller Ave., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
