Frank E Poe

Frank E. Poe, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at his residence.

He was born January 1, 1955, in Shelbyville, IN to Ed Poe and Helen (Schoentrup) Poe.

Frank graduated from Shelbyville High School with the Class of 1973.  He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  Frank was the Owner and operator of Ed Poe & Son Concrete, a business he started with his father in 1973.  He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time fishing and hunting.  He also enjoyed scuba diving and he held multiple certifications and even taught classes.  Frank had a love for classic muscle cars and motorcycles.  His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He married Penny Cordrey on May 20, 1978, and she survives.  They shared 47 loving years of marriage together.

He is also survived by his sons, Shane Poe, Trevor (wife, Melissa) Poe and Clint (wife, Jessica) Poe; his grandchildren, Cru and Sadie Poe, Zaylee, Longmire, Graelyn, and Laradelle Poe, Mac, Ellie, Woods and Izzy Poe; his sister-in-law, Linda Hampton; his nieces, Jodi (husband, Jeff) Hardt,  and Kelli (husband, Doug) Warner and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Patricia Cordrey and his brother-in-law, Ray Hampton.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 4, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Rd, Shelbyville, IN  46176 with Father Mike Keucher officiating.

Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Frank's family.
