Eric N. Brown, Sr., 64, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, Columbus.
He was born September 9, 1958 in Shelbyville to Edna (Givens) Bass.
Eric graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1976. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.
At a young age, Eric developed a love for playing and watching all types of sports. Eric was very active in the Boys Club through the years, He began with playing little league sports and hanging around the club and that turned into coaching and helping out with programs well into his adult life.
One of his favorite pastimes was fishing. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He loved to make people laugh. Eric had a big heart and always had a big hug for his family and loved ones.
He married Angela Brown on May 19, 2006, and she survives. Eric is also survived by his son, Eric Brown, Jr. (wife, Tosha); step-daughter, Jill Laycock (husband, Dustin); step-sons, Jade Carroll (wife, Heather); and Jess Carroll (wife, Stephanie); special niece, Andres Brown; grandchildren, Taylia, Brooklyn, Eric III, Eryn, Kennedy, Kali, Kashton, Brooklyn, Maddox, Jenna, Brynn, Olivia, and Owen; special great-niece and great-nephew, Kaliyah and Levi; nephews, Michael Hamilton II, Kelsey Hamilton, and Juan Shane; brother, Tomaz Shane (wife, Conception); sister-in-law, Lora Furgeson; and a host of other family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, brother, Michael Hamilton, sister, Phyllis Brown, nephews, Juaque Hamilton, Julian Hamilton, and niece, Temeca Hamilton.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2022 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with military rites conducted by local veteran organizations.
Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve Eric's family.
