Emma F Johnson

Emma Florence Johnson, 87, of Shelbyville, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Russell County, KY, to Sherman and Edna (Haymonds) Brown.  She married Carlie Johnson on Oct. 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death in March 1980.

Survivors include six daughters, Wanda Shephard of Shelbyville, Janice (husband, Donald) Burgmeier of Greensburg, Betty Koenigkramer of New York, Wilma Johnson of Shelbyville, Linda Stafford of Shelbyville and Wanda Loraine Johnson of Kokomo; three sons, Gene Johnson of Shelbyville, Wendel Johnson of Kokomo and William Johnson of Shelbyville; two sisters, Ann Tucker of Shelbyville and Doris Burchett of Shelbyville; 23 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Forristine Johnson; and a brother, Everett Brown.

Mrs. Johnson spent her childhood in Russell County, KY.

She had been employed at Excel Wood Products Manufacturing.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison Street.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Evans officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
