Ellen Prather

An angel earned her wings today: Ellen Prather, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Major Hospital with her family at her side.

She was born July 12, 1942, in Shelbyville, to Flora and Lenord Featherstone. She married her beloved husband of 50 years, Clifton Prather, in 1963, and he preceded her in death Dec. 28, 2012.

She leaves behind her children: Tonja Pacini; Cliff Prather; Brian Prather and wife, Carrie; James Prather; Crystal Wood; Scott Prather and wife, Francis; and April Prather; 17 grandkids; 12 great-grandkids; a sister; friend, Erlene Rencole; and half sister, Betty Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.

Mrs. Prather was a homemaker who loved her kids and grandkids who brought joy to her life. She loved her family so much and she was a proud mother.

Per Mrs. Prather's request, no visitation will be held.

Private family graveside services will be at a later date.
