Elizabeth Sanders

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Sanders, 88, of Shelbyville died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Heritage House Convalescent Home. Born June 12, 1919, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Walter Miller and Helen Collins-Miller. She married Charles Gerhardt Sanders on Oct. 29, 1949, and he preceded her in death on May 29, 1997. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (husband, Doug) Seeman of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Greg Charles Seeman and Megan Elizabeth Seeman. She also was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Catherine Sanders. Mrs. Sanders was part owner and operator, along with her husband, of Sanders Jewelry Store since 1955. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Baptismal Font Fund, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
