Edna "Tootsie" F. Mays

Edna F. "Tootsie" Mays, 83, of Shelbyville died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Waldron Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waldron. Born April 14, 1924, in Versailles, she was the daughter of Perry Earl and Hazel (Land) Hall. She married Carl Ricardo Mays on April 9, 1947, and he survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Carla Jo (husband, Mike) Pearce of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Michael Pearce and Cortney F. Pearce, both of Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bernice Hall and Rose Marie Runnebohm; and brothers, Everett Hall and Larry Hall. Mrs. Mays was a homemaker and worked at Pearson Elementary School cafeteria for 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Henry Prather officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
