Douglas E. Powers, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his residence.

He was born February 28, 1955, in Michigan to Edward Powers and Katherine (Morgan) Powers.

He served in the United States Army. Doug was always up for a ride on his motorcycle. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time making memories with his family.

He married Ginny (Harms) Powers on January 21, 1980 and she survives.

He is also survived by his son, Scott Harms; daughter, Heather (James) Williams; son, Tony Powers and daughter, Misti Powers; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (wife, Belinda) Powers and sister, Linda Jett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Doug Powers, Jr.; 1 brother and 2 sisters.

No services will be observed at this time.
